After I purchased an 40GB SSD for my mac mini. I quickly found things out the hard way. OSX does not allow you to install programs to external media. To make matters worse I only had a 250GB external HD. It is a Seagate FreeAgent Go to be exact. So I figured, time for an upgrade..I figured GO BIG OR GO HOME. I opted for the 3TB FreeAgent GoFlex

I wanted to share my experience with you guys to maybe help you in your mechanical storage endevours too. So here is my brief review of The World’s First 3TB HDD. Seagates FreeAgent GoFlex Desk utilizes their modular external storage system. For example, you will start off with a hard drive. Then you can attach the connection you want–USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire and so on. It’s a simple solution to the problem of data connectivity. The design makes connections upgradeable and can extend the life and usability of an external hard drive without changing the enclosure it’s in.

Inside the GoFlex is a 3TB Barracuda XT is a 7200RPM drive.
