ASUS has finally started to take pre-orders for its Transformer Prime tablet, which is expected to be the first on the market to be outfitted with NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 chipset.  Customers in the US and Canada can place an early order for the 32GB variant in several different colors, though the optional notebook dock and 64GB edition have yet to surface.

The 32GB pre-order model sells for $500 in the US and Canada, with shipments expected to begin on December 5.
