Computers get closer and closer everyday to a perfect relationship with each other. At CES over the weekend Toshiba and Sony debut there internet connected TV’s with camera and mic and skype widget integrated.

Both companys have a camera and mic periferal that will be available. Sony’s Skype camera will be available this Spring. There is no price a right now.

Toshiba’s camera and mic add on actually allows consumers to use voice controls for TV.The way it works owner claps hands twice and speak command to tv. The rep that I spoke with told me that Toshiba was looking into building the camera an mic inside of the TV’s sorta like a laptop webcam. I think building the camera inside of the TV’s takes away from the flexibiltiy of what you can do with the Skype camera. For example if you have your TV setup over the fireplace and your love seat is to the far left wall your built in camera want pick you up unless you stand directly in front of TV whereas a device gives you the chance to move around to where you are in the room.
