The Galaxy Tab 10.1 recently launched in Britan and will soon be pulled off shelves due to a sales injunction.  The recent court rulings by a German court, ruled in favor of Apple’s request to have a preliminary injunction against Samsung and the Galaxy Tab 10.1.  In result, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 cannot be sold or marketed until the judge rules otherwise.  Good news is that Samsung will be filing an appeal and it should be heard in about 4 weeks by the same judge.  The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has won over critics and reviewers alike for it’s brilliant display and razor thin design.  It even edges out the iPad 2 in comparisons.  Eric Schmidt had alot to say about all these Apple lawsuits.  He agrees with the masses in that these lawsuits are attacks against the Android OS and not manufacturers.  More below.

We have seen an explosion of Android devices entering the market and, because of our successes, competitors are responding with lawsuits as they cannot respond through innovations,”

Update: Samsung’s full official response, spoken by Director of Public Relations Kim Titus:

“Samsung is disappointed with the court’s decision and we intend to act immediately to defend our intellectual property rights through the ongoing legal proceedings in Germany and will continue to actively defend these rights throughout the world.

The request for injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung.

We will take all necessary measures to ensure Samsung’s innovative mobile communications devices are available to customers in Europe and around the world.

This decision by the court in Germany in no way influences other legal proceedings filed with the courts in Europe and elsewhere.” – Kim Titus
