The Motorola Xoom is set to be the world’s first Android 3.0 honeycomb tablet. However, being first has it’s drawbacks. First being that the Xoom is not a Verizon LTE 4G device. To obtain this ability, when available, the Xoom will have to be sent back in to have the feature added. Next is Adobe Flash, one of the biggests touts for Android users is their ability to utility the ENTIRE internet. News of Adobe Flash 10.1 not being on the Xoom comes as a huge surprise. Adobe is working on a new version of Adobe Flash and should have it released by Sprint. So what do you guys think? Do you think Motorola should have waited for release? I think the Xoom will still sell exceptionally well.

Now about the release date. Motorola, Best Buy, and Verizon have been in a marketing frenzy to let the customers know that the Xoom is coming. The question has always been, when? Best Buy and Verizon will have units in stock on 2/24. The price right now is still $799. There has not been any confirmation about the two year contract price for $599. However, there will be a WIFI only version released later this year for about $600

The Motorola Xoom will be the first tablet running Android 3.0, codenamed Honeycomb. It will sport a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor running at 1 GHz and a 10.1-inch display (1280 x 800). The Xoom will have 32 GB of onboard memory and 1GB of DDR2 RAM, along with SD card support.

The Xoom will also have a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and will feature a built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and light sensor. For connectivity, it will support Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR +HID, 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n, as well as both 3G and 4G LTE.

  1. What the H*? Taking a step backward on what’s been promoted as the most intuitive version of Android OS so far. Fail! By the time wifi only is ready to release, this better be resolved.
