Motorola has just announced a new addition to their Pro line of phones. Sporting a similar candybar form factor, this is Motorola’s Pro and Xprt all grow’d up. The Pro+ looks to be Motorola’s attempt to capture the Blackberry enthusiasts and put RIM down for the count. It’s styling is very similar to the Blackberry Bold but the display has been upgraded to a 3.1″ screen with a resolution of 640×480. It will run Android 2.3 and have a TI OMAP chip clocked at 1Ghz. Other specs include a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus, along with 4GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. MicroSD card support is included for up to 32GB of extra storage.
Officially, the Pro+ is due to reach Asia and Europe in October. Motorola strongly hints at a North American release, though, as it supports 14.4Mbps HSPA 3G on both AT&T and T-Mobile airwaves as well as most Canadian carriers.
