We all knew that Microsoft has an official XBOX Live app to go along with their new UI.  The application is free and it’s available for iOS and Windows Phone.  The app lets iPad, iPhone, and iPod users handle most tasks aside from actual gameplay and the marketplace.  Features like messaging, managing the friends list, comparing profiles and achievements, and customizing the avatar, are available.  The new beacon feature allows you to send out a batsignal to your friends telling them to get on and play.

Microsoft has also launched the Xbox Companion on Windows Phone.  The free app is an enhanced remote for browsing content and playing it directly from the Xbox.  However, it needs Windows Phone 7​.5 and an Xbox Live account to work.
