Another frustrating piece of news for those still waiting on an Android phone for Verizon. Because of the shortage of Samsung’s AMOLED screens the Droid Incredible has been backordered for months. Verizon has done their best to appease their customers with $25 gift cards or even giving them preferential reservations for the Droid X. Now the Droid X stock is depleted and there are more unhappy customers. According to the carrier’s webstore, neither handset is currently available. Stock isn’t expected to ship out until August 3rd, two weeks from today. Both are priced at $199.99 with a new, two-year agreement and the mandatory voice and data plans.

I have handled both the Droid Incredible and the DROID X and I am not surprised. These phones are pretty awesome. I just wish Motorola and HTC could get the stock issues fixed. The Incredible is on its way to be revised. HTC has announced that they will be putting new LCD screens in the phone instead of the AMOLED screens from Samsung. Samsung has slowed production of their screens due to the popularity of the new Super AMOLED screens found in the Galaxy S phones.
