Google Docs Now Ready for Honeycomb

Google gave its tablet users a lift Wednesday by updating Google Docs for Android (Market). The new version is now genuinely optimized for Android tablets and gives a three-panel view that lets users browse batches of documents, a list of the files themselves, and a quick preview of the files and who has access to a file. The actual workspace is larger, and autocompletion simplifies dropping in collaborators and others by their name or address.
Other tweaks include support for portrait and landscape modes on tablets as well as better video playback.
Anyone using a tablet with Android 3.0 or later can see the new features. Smartphones don’t get new features beyond the video improvements but only need Android 2.1 or newer.
