Acer’s Iconia A500 is now available for pre-order at Best Buy. At CES this year, We saw several Android tablets and while some may never make it to market, the Acer Iconia is set to be the 2nd Android Tablet available. It’s only competitor, the Motorola Xoom, is also sold at Best Buy. The specs are widely the same while the Price isn’t. The Acer Iconia is about $150 cheaper than it’s counterpart. The build quality is comparable as well. As of now, the only thing the Motorola Xoom has going for itselt is the LTE Capability and the Unlockable Bootloader.

The Acer Iconia does find a way to differientiate itself by offering a USB 2.0 port built right in. Other specs include a 10.1 inch display running at 1280 x 800, NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 2MP front and 5PM rear cameras, HDMI port, 1 GB of RAM. The Iconia only has 16GB of internal memory however that’s where the USB 2.0 port comes into play. More memory can be added in seconds. The tablet also supports 1080p playback via HDMI and 720p on the device itself.

AT&T is expected to have a pretty good Honeycomb Tablet portfolio. Along side the Acer Iconia, AT&T is expected to offer the ASUS Transformer and some sort of Motorola Xoom Variant. Like I said before, Tablets were announced left and right in January.

As soon as the 16GB Motorola Xoom is available. We could see a more even battle. Hopefully Moto hits the sweet pricing spot of $450. After all, tablets are a luxury right?
